  1. Will there ever be more activities on weekends? I'm looking for activities like cooking classes, archery, etc., but can't make it on the weekdays!!

  2. Thank you for contacting us. Most of our cooking classes are on weekdays, though many are offered in the evenings. We do have 2 this summer available on Saturdays. This summer we also have a family archery program running on Sundays, as well as two drop-in archery programs (non-instructional) on weekends. If you're interested in outdoor programs, quite a few of our hikes, canoe, and kayak programs are held on weekends. Please check out our Summer Directory available tomorrow, May 11, for a list of all our summer programs. The Directory can be viewed online, mailed to you, or is also available at most of our county parks. If you have any questions, please email info@monmouthcountyparks.com.

  4. Is Big Brook Creek, acquired by Monmouth County Park System, banning fossil hunting and why?
Thank you for a response. Many fossil hunters would like to know more about this new rule. No date when rule came into effect. New signs along the roads do not specify.

    1. Thank you for contacting us. It is always been our policy that all natural features be left as they were found within the Monmouth County Park System parks. Our policies can be viewed at http://bit.ly/1UcPVdR.
However, some of the nearby land is owned by Colts Neck Township and was often where many people would go fossiling. Recently we've heard that they've changed their rules and require a permit for such activities. Please contact the township for further details.
